• Actors register with Way Ahead Films and indicate a preference for a 4 actor day or 6 actor day. They also supply a list of available dates. Way Ahead Films will then endeavour to build a session around actor’s availability. Once the date is agreed, a 20% deposit is payable to secure a place. • At least three weeks prior to the agreed filming date, actors should send Way Ahead Films the script that he/she would like to perform. These scenes should be set in a “reasonable” location (ie, living room, kitchen, garden, park, café, office) in order to minimize rigging time and maximize acting time. Scripts should also be cleared for copyright.
  • Way Ahead Films can provide scripts but there will be a £10 charge. Scripts will be sent by e-mail on request and around a dozen scripts are available.
  • Way Ahead Films will cast the parts from amongst the actors registering for a particular shoot day. Each participant will appear in his/her chosen scene and at least one other scene chosen by either another participant or Way Ahead Films.
  • If it proves impossible to cast so that each actor appears twice in scenes shot over the course of the day (for example, because there is a disproportionate ratio of men to women) Way Ahead Films may add additional scenes. These will be agreed in advance.
  • The deposit is fully refundable if an actor cancels his/her place with three weeks prior notice. However, the deposit not refundable if there is less than three weeks notice. If an actor cancels with less than two full working day’s notice, the actor is liable to pay the session fee unless a replacement can be found, either by Way Ahead Films or the actor who is cancelling. Way Ahead Films reserves the right to cancel or postpone a session up to 10 pm the night before a session, in which case, all deposits will be returned. Cancellation will be notified by either email or telephone.
  • Registering interest and dates with Way Ahead Films does not guarantee a place on a session (as it may be impossible to find mutually convenient dates).
  • It’s the actor’s responsibility to contact the copyright holder to ensure that the copyright is cleared for these purposes. Since it will only be used on a showreel and therefore is not being performed for commercial purposes, it is likely that the copyright holder will waive the charge. However, clearance remains the responsibility of the actor.
